Artist Statement

It's my desire to capture the unique quality of each individual person and animal that motivates my art. My aim in painting a portrait is to first still myself, to begin to truly see the subject of the portrait, an individual unlike any other. The same applies in my landscape painting - each landscape has its unique colours and qualities of light and shape that say it is this place and no other.
